A Little Bit About the Teacher...
This year marks my twenty-eigth year as a teacher for the Corbin Independent School District. I have been happily employed at Corbin Primary for all twenty-eight years.
I am a graduate of Somerset High School in Somerset, Kentucky. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Kentucky University. I have also earned a Master's degree in Education from the University of the Cumberlands.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for thirty-three years. My husband and I are blessed with two wonderful sons, both of whom keep us very busy. Academics and sports are a way of life in our household, Steve and I both feel very blessed to be part of the TRADITION and EXCELLENCE that the Corbin Schools represent throughout this state and across the nation. I believe our schools are not just places to attend, but a journey to ENJOY!
My goal as a teacher is to meet the needs of the children in my class in a positive, nurturing environment that will prepare them for a successful future. I will connect their natural desire to learn with new concepts by engaging them in meaningful activities that promote the varied learning styles of each child. One of my favorite quotes from an unknown author is "Childhood should be a journey not a race."
... so get ready because we're going to have fun while we're together!!!!
